One on One workshops

Enjoy personalized, one-on-one photography tuition tailored to your skill level, from beginner to intermediate, with private workshops offered across Perth through to Mandurah.

Choose a 2-hour editing session at my home or yours, where we’ll work in Adobe Lightroom (and Photoshop) on both your images and mine. We’ll set clear editing goals and refine your workflow while developing a consistent, personal editing style.

Or head into the field for a 3-hour one-on-one wildlife photography workshop, covering camera setup, ethical wildlife practices, and essential field craft. Sessions take place at one of my favorite local locations—Mandurah Estuary, Herdsman Lake, or The Spectacles Wetlands—or a location of your choice.

I work hands-on with Canon, Sony, and Nikon systems, and all sessions are strictly private, one-on-one, available within Perth down to Mandurah, Western Australia.

Please bring your camera gear, camera manual, and a lens with a full-frame equivalent reach of at least 200mm. A tripod or ground pod is recommended.

I have hands-on experience setting up and using Canon, Sony, and Nikon cameras.

Please also note that I only do 1 on 1 sessions in Perth down to Mandurah, in Western Australia.

Pricing is $150 for three hours between Central Perth and Mandurah. If you would like to book a private workshop outside of these areas a quote will be arranged for you.

On the weekend I had @pauljarvisphoto chauffeur me around to Victoria dam, for a morning of sitting on rocks, dodging wolf spider nests, playing what’s that sound and the occasional bird photo. Paul was opportunistic enough to lay in waiting
On the weekend I had @pauljarvisphoto chauffeur me around to Victoria dam, for a morning of sitting on rocks, dodging wolf spider nests, playing what’s that sound and the occasional bird photo. Paul was opportunistic enough to lay in waiting for cute little White Robin helping himself to a buffet of insects almost closer than he could focus, while I was being entertained by a group of Red-winged fairywrens dancing up and down a group of Paperbark trees picking off ants. It’s was so nice to be back out after a few weeks of not taking bird photos and I can’t wait to get out some more. Unfortunately the Z8 is toast and needs a new sensor, so I’m waiting to hear back what the result from the insurance company is. A lazy Sunday, sleeping in till about 8am this morning, a luxury I normally don’t get when taking wildlife photos. 😅 I wanted to focus on something a little bit different this morning. After earlier in the week taking photos of bugs proved extremely difficult. I wanted to get some rep in so I decided to stick with static subjects this morning. Along Len Howards walk in Erskine there are some trees in the swamp with Lichen on them. I originally wanted to try and get it all in focus at the back to the front, but I guess my skills aren’t that great at stabilising that long handheld yet 🤣. Yesterday @miramismacros and I met up over at Erskine for my first day having a go at macro photography. A completely different skill set to what I’m used to. Unfortunately this might be my last post for the new few weeks. After just picking myself up a new lens I’ve had a fall while out in the field and dropped my camera. 🥲 I’m taking them into heartlands tomorrow so hopefully I’ll know the extent of the damage in the next week.
